YECYOUTH EMPOWERMENT
COMMITTEE
About YEC

Preparing young people for life beyond the classroom.

The Youth Empowerment Committee was developed to help young people prepare for adulthood by learning practical skills they may not have the opportunity to learn fully in traditional school. We intend to serve young people ages 15 to 22 as they build the knowledge, confidence, and independence to shape their futures.

We believe every young person deserves the tools and opportunities to build a successful and productive life. Our approach brings financial literacy, digital literacy, and practical trade skills together with personal responsibility, informed decision-making, and self-sufficiency. We want young people to put what they learn into action and recognize the power and consequences of their choices.

We also believe stronger communities depend on relationships between generations. Through our vision for an adopt-an-elder initiative, young people can assist elders with everyday activities while elders share their wisdom, experience, and mentorship. Together, they can bridge the gap between generations and build a lasting culture of service and respect.

Our mission is clear: to empower the youth.

Growing together.
Giving back.

We want young people to see themselves as active contributors to their communities. By learning from elders, building meaningful relationships, and taking part in service, they can develop a sense of responsibility and belonging while making a difference in the lives of others.

We welcome conversations with young people, families, mentors, and potential partners who share this vision.
